Luciole Bistro at Central Park

Last Saturday was such a happy day!!! Why?

Because two important girls in my life were having their birthday!!!

Before I start reviewing, I want to give this to Karina Astria for treating me and a few friends on her birthday at this new fancy restaurant in Central Park. I just want to greet you the coolest happiest loveliest life you can ever have and thank you for the friendship so far :). Friendship means the world.

Luciole Bistro is a brand new french themed restaurant opening in Central Park and it's located just across Nanny's Pavillon and Starbucks SOGO. I adore restaurants like this, like this by meaning that it has its own building, not parts of the mall interiors. I just love looking (and entering) fancy looking restaurants. This restaurant is pretty eye catching due to the lamps, especially by night.

Here are some photos of the exterior and interior to give you the idea of the restaurant so you won't get lost when you go here (which I'm pretty sure you won't).

I love how hanging lamps look in a restaurant, they just add up the prettiness level to 100%.

Colored checkboards floor. Very vintage.

They also have a minibar inside, and oh yeah if you love to drink, this restaurant also serves you beers and cocktails or certain kinds of alcohol drinks, but if you prefer a lighter drink with no alcohol, you can also try their lovely mocktails or smoothies like I did!

Even though I didn't order any alcohol drinks (and I also dislike them), but I looked at their menu (which is very well designed), I still think that the drinks are still affordable.

This is their menu. I am a graphic design student and I just love a classy, in the same time fun looking menu design and this is certainly one of it, I love the blue color they're using right here. Daebak!

Another awesome illustration <3.

Okay I'm going to finish the opening and go straight to the food, because I know you guys love the food more than me :"( *overrated drama.

Let's start with my choice of food. I was torn between "Pan Seared Red Snapper" and this delicious looking burger. I was looking for something heavier because I haven't eaten anything since the lunch. Well, I end up choosing the burger eventually after I saw the servant took this dish out for other costumers.

Anyway, I want to say sorry for the pictures if they tend to have yellow tones, that's because I took the photos on dinner time with very low lights and my light source is probably the hanging lamps (which were yellow), see the picture above.

Luciole House Burger
IDR 60.000 (before tax)

Everything about the filling of this burger is so yummy, I just wish that the burger buns would be softer. I already told this issue to someone (not sure if she's a PR or the manager), who was very friendly and polite.

I wanna rape this burger my gosh!

This burger has eggs, gorgeous beef patty and fresh vegetables dressing. I kinda like the caramelized onion hidden underneath the egg, it adds something different to the dish. Somehow fits my asian tooth, you know when a burger gets too western.

Shanghai Moon
IDR 39.000 (before tax)

My choice of beverage, it's the mixture of fresh fruits and soda. LOVIN IT SO FRESH!

Spaghetti Carbonara
IDR 59.000 (before tax)

This pasta is good, but nothing really special, you can consider this one if you're planning to have pasta for your dinner.

Lobster Thermidor Spaghetti
IDR 74.000 (before tax)

You'll find a huge hint of lobster (and somehow crab) scent if your order this, and since I love seafood, I just feel like it actually adds up my sense of appetite :). On the other hand, the cream is also light but very tasty, this dish is also another worth to try menu. I personally like this one.

Pan Roasted Chicken with Potato Lasagna
IDR 55.000

I wanna rape this chicken!!! fffuuuu
and beside it's also the best presentation overall! Does it taste as gorgeous as it looks? YES!

I think da'bomb is the Potato Lasagna, it's just genius and I love the usage of cherry tomatoes and tomato sauce as garnish. The chicken is also well seasoned. I really hope you could try this for yourself.

Hot Honey Lemon Tea
IDR 27.500

What's a fancy dinner without a little touch of dessert?
We ordered this whole round of Apple Tart for us to share, this apple tart is also delicious, gotta give it to them for including one scoop of vanilla ice cream to make everything better.

Apple Tart
IDR 35.000 (before tax)

DELICIOUS! Y'all know how much I adore texture on a food! This dessert certainly got it, the crisp, the melts, the yum, the tenderness. I actually wanted to try their signature pie but I've had enough for that day. Maybe next visit I will. MELTS IN YA MOUTH!

The bill was IDR 490.000 for 4 heads.

Overall as conclusion, I think Luciole is a good newcomer to watch for, not only that it's located at one of the most crowded mall in Jakarta, it also has a cute medium size venue plus the great food, according to what I've tasted so far. I think this place is just perfect for dinner with your best friends or your lover, I suggest you to ask for a set near the window because you'll have Tribeca Park as your view, it can get seriously romantic.

The Best of SUSHI TEI!

Technically, I don't think this restaurant need anymore introduction. When everyone hear 'SUSHI TEI', I'm sure in their mind's probably saying something like 'that's the best SUSHI restaurant I've ever been in Indonesia or maybe in the world', and fortunately I HAVE TO AGREE.

Sushi Tei's actually a branch and franchise from its original restaurant in Singapore, its first restaurant was opened around 1994 and in Indonesia it's first introduced in 2003 and until 2012 it has personally been the best sushi and japanese restaurant I've ever been. This entry is not for me to review the food because I think you guys have tasted most of them before and therefore I'm going to make a compilation out of it! This is my personal choice of THE BEST MENUS OF SUSHI TEI.

The food that I'm going to review and mention below is the food that I always order everytime I go to Sushi Tei, but to be frank, these menus are not always this way, there are times when I order other menus, different variant and even more than this, but this is just my personal favorite and what I MOSTLY order. They have this sense of attraction that never bore me and always make me crave and crave for more dining experience. Wondering what they are? Here are my top choices!

Photos are all taken by me and they're taken during my last visit at Central Park store, last Friday.

APPETIZER
SEAWEED
Oh My Gosh, this is probably the best seaweed I've ever tasted because you can feel how fresh and natural tasting it is, the only problem that I'm having is the portion. I wish it's actually larger because we barely can't stand not craving for more.

CUKAIDAKO (Baby Octopus)
Don't judge its look from its cover, I once asked my mom to have a bite of this dish but my mom tend to look at the appearance (she said it looks creepy), but I force her to have a bite and she finally agree! In the end it's her that crave for another portion. They're so GOOD!

TORI GYOZA
I love how everytime I eat this, I can feel how yummy the meat is, the broth from the meat and how perfectly cooked the skin is.

Another choice of appetizer you can have is CAWANMUSHI (egg custard in a glass/bowl), but for me it's personally a little to heavy for appetizer, I can get a little full.

MAIN COURSE
ABURI SALMON ROLL
Whoopsssss this has always been my personal favorite ever since my first visit to Sushi Tei back when I was in high school (6 years ago). I have always loved anything with salmon (rare of perfectly cooked) so I gave it a try and 6 years later, still is my champion menu and on for years to come.

JUMBO DRAGON ROLL
This is obviously a must try whenever you visit SUSHI TEI. This is obviously the recommended menu, I love the eel, the tempura and actually...everything.

Other preferable options:
- Kani Mayo Roll

BEVERAGES
Nothing for me can beat the classic Ice Ocha. Not because they're free but they neutralize everything, so that you won't feel like having too much and get your sense of full rested for a while :)

Another favorite choice of mine is this STRAWBERRY SPARKLING MOJITO

I was lucky enough to get the promo, I didn't notice any promotion happening that time and still ON! For every purchase of IDR 250.000, you will get a free complimentary of KANI MAKI. This is also good!
Thank you SUSHI TEI for always giving me a great dining experience.
DON'T MISS THE PROMO, GUYS :)

Gong Cha Grand Opening!

Got invited to the grand opening of Gong Cha bubble drink! For those of you who haven't heard about this (frankly speaking) famous bubble drink brand from Taiwan, then say HALLO! Because they're opening their branch here in Indonesia, especially our beloved city Jakarta and to be more specific, it's in Central Park Mall.

The invitation is sent over email by their outlet manager, Eddy :)
Thank you for the invitation...

I'm going to review the drinks that I happened to experience there, FYI before I start, I want to give a little information that the reviews of the drink is based on my personal experience, not because I got invited then I give positive reviews, all of the reviews in this blog is based on honesty 8), anyway, back to the topic, each invitation equals to one drink, but I don't think it's fair enough to give you guys review based on one drinks, therefore, because I love you guys so much, I ordered another one based on my own order and gave my own objective review about the drinks.

Eddy asked me what drink I'd love to try but since I want to be surprised, I asked him to give me the most special drink, the signature drink from Gong Cha and he suggested the "Winter Melon Tea" completed with bubbles, Gong Cha signature milk foam and matcha powder.

I can't say anything except MESMERIZED! The creativity of turning winter melon into a very nice drink, I love the milk foam I think it's the cherry on top! you have and I mean, HAVE to try ordering milk foam as the topping, it's totally yummy, it's not your ordinary milk foam like ones you have from your cappucinno, this one is seasoned, I personally think it's sea-salted and the matcha powder gives you a little taste but mostly for the pleasure of the eye :).

The Winter Melon Tea is not part of the milk tea, but when you tasted it you can definitely hit a glimpse of milk in the drink where honestly gives another point to this drink. You get the milk, you get the sweetness and you get the original winter melon tea from Gong Cha! I LOVE THIS DRINK!

The second drink that I give a hit on is the caramel milk tea, I intentionally don't give my POV on the original milk tea because it's common and from most brands that I have tried before, it's close or even almost the same taste, so I decided to give a try, who knows the caramel they're using gives a different touch and indeed IT IS! When you tried this drink you'll forget that you have caramel, you'll get this crispy chocolate cookies taste. Gong Cha is officially my new love <3. This drink is absolutely recommended, but I'd like you to experience the winter melon tea because it's the signature drink and the most surprising one.

I'd like to have my drink to be less sweet and Gong Cha seems to have this great measurements of the sugar scale.

By the end of my visit, Eddy gave me a goodie bag and thank you for this, to be honest, I just love the Gong Cha logo, I think you have the class, you have the ethnic and the color... the branding is good somehow.
